Hey Pot - San Jose

Solid hot pot. Love their apps aswell. Fast service.

I did not enjoy this restaurant, menu, food, etc. Maybe it just isnt for me but the menu is limited and the two soups we tried were not anything I would ever try again. Imitation seafood, underdeveloped broth, and even the white rice wasnt cooked properly.

Soup based is bland which makes everyone else don’t taste good. The dipping sauce doesn’t make things taste better either.

I went here to give this place a try I decided to go with the miso hot soup I specifically asked for no scallions, tomatoes, kelp, lotus root, cabbage. The pot itself wasn't really as filling I noticed there was tomatoes in my soup even though I noted that through their self service dining. Overall thanks for the free green tea and service here was very friendly but the pot itself wasn't what I expected to be the same as in the pictures. Also pay in cash to avoid the convenience fee. That's all I gotta say until I try this place again.

I got the beef pot with vegetable broth. Staff was super accommodating towards substitutions. I ordered a green tea and it came in a plastic pouch which was super interesting. Also really enjoyed the tea. All pots come with a side of vermicelli or white rice. I opted for the white rice. Beef was tough and does not seem as though it was cooked fresh. Everything else in the pot was delicious and I enjoyed it. The broth was bland but we were given sauces and decided to stir it into the broth. That definitely did help. Overall, this is a cool place to check out if you are dabbling into hotpot.
