Contribuisci feedbackI really enjoy Jon-Jon's BBQ. Pretty much every meat I've had there is good. I need to go back there sometime soon.
I have tried many BBA joints. Many local and some in the South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Jon Jon's is up there with the best. The ribs are perfectly cooked, not dry or over cooked. I love the Brisket sandwich. Open from 11:00 am to 5:00Pm.
The ribs are outstanding. Never dry or over cooked. The BBQ sauce is slightly sweet. The brisket sandwich is also a 5. It is only open from 11-5, but a must try for BBQ lovers. It a little shack, but the food is the reason to go.
I always look for places that have good food but are light, shall we say, on the decor. Jon-Jon's is such a place. Real southern BBQ cooked in the smoker out in front of the restaurant. Jon-Jon takes real pride in his food and it shows. I recommend the ribs and the hot links. So if you're in San Jose for a few days and want to try a place that's not so fancy but has great BBQ, check out Jon-Jon's.
Huge portions, and real honest to gawd BBQ. I nearly always order the half-slab of ribs, but everything is good. Messy, yummy, carnivore GOOD! Now, this is hardly a romantic setting- some few tables inside and an outside picnic area. Parking is hard to find around lunch, so come early or late. If you eat inside you will have to listen to bad daytime TV, so I choose outside, but then I smell like BBQ. So what, it's better than Hai-Karate anyday. Not fancy, but the dude knows Q.
