Kazoo Japanese Sushi Boat - San Jose

I absolutely love this place! My family and I have been coming to Kazoo for over 15 years. I appreciate that the new owner has made an effort to maintain the same atmosphere and keep most of the longtime staff. While food prices have certainly increased, that's understandable in the current climate. We adore Jose, the sushi chef, and all the waitresses are fantastic and lovely. The food is consistently excellent!

Not a SAFE place. Good but not great food, pricy consider what you get. 12 pieces most regular sashimi that you can find in Chain Supermarket, cost 30 dollars, and doesn't come with rice, soup or salad. Although large pieces, still feel not worth it. The Beef dish I ordered has STEEL WOOL in the rice! SERIOUSLY? The health and safety seems to be an issue here.

Delicious sushi that was incredibly fresh—I savored every bite! The customer service exceeded my expectations. The owner was a wonderful presence and truly valued our business, which felt great. This will definitely be a place I return to! I had the transparent shrimp and sharp hamachi roll, and it was absolutely delicious! They offer beer, but I’d love to see even more drink options. The grilled omelet had an unexpectedly sweet flavor, almost like a dessert. Overall, I commend the sushi cuisine our chef prepared. Thank you!

I finally tried Kazoo for the first time today. I arrived around 6 PM on a Friday and was immediately seated and greeted. There are quite a few rude and misleading reviews here claiming that this place only serves outdated 90s sushi, as if having a long-standing history in Japantown is a bad thing. It's honestly a bit embarrassing that it took me over a year to visit based on those comments. Some said the place felt old and was just average, but I found the grilled eggplant with miso to be both delicious and well-prepared. My partner ordered the poke nachos, which is a more modern dish – the chips were perfectly crispy. The takoyaki was just $4.95, and our three rolls were $5.95 each, making it hard to understand the claims of overpriced menu items. Overall, the food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Good selection of sushi. they offer smaller rolls that is perfect to get different rolls for the same price. the place is picturesque and the staff is friendly.
