Metro Balderas 1 - San Jose

I've visited this restaurant twice, and both times were fantastic. Their taco El Pastor is authentic and truly outstanding—I can't understand why I don't come here more often! The staff is incredibly friendly as well. While I haven't tried anything else from the menu, it seems like everything else would be just as delicious.

This restaurant offers some incredible and hard-to-find dishes. Be sure to try the suadero and chicharrón prensado tacos! While the carne asada and al pastor are tasty, the suadero and chicharrón prensado really steal the show. The suadero has a fantastic combination of crispy, smoky, and tender brisket, while the chicharrón prensado is spicy with the perfect balance of chewiness and tenderness. The horchata is also just right—not too sweet. Keep in mind that the tacos are on the smaller side, so you'll probably want at least three for a satisfying meal.

This is, without a doubt, the best Tacos al Pastor spot I've discovered in the Bay Area. The tacos are quite authentic, and their flavor truly brings back memories of home.

Service was fast and curtious, very respectable joint, however I knocked one star because I didn't get enough bang for my buck, their portion sized bean and cheese was pretty small for $7. However, it was soo delicious!

An order of a carne asada quesadilla, huarache, and a large jamaica came to about $23. The food was a bit pricey but it did have good flavor. Carne asada was seasoned very well and the salsa was also good.
