The Hu tieu dac biet eas good but not the best I've had. Lots of regular meat cuts and the large bone was a nice addition. Broth was generally nice and light, but not as robust as other places I've tried. Came late afternoon and wasn't crowded.
I stumbled upon this place as I was exploring Lion Plaza. I ordered the Hu Tieu Nam Vang, dry. It comes with a side of soup that has a big pork bone in it. The soup was delicious and the bone was good to gnaw on. They have marinated garlic, which I love. It's pretty pricey for a bowl of noodles $18) but I was able to take some home for my hubby so it turned out to be a meal for both of us.
Wanted to try this hu tieu place for awhile. Some serve it usually too saucy and salty so this was simpler so I can add more sauce to my taste. I like clear noodle and the soup on the side. The textures were nice, they heated the bean sprouts so it did not make the other food cold. It came with pork, shrimp, quail eggs and squid. It also came with tea. Service was nice and efficient.
This place is pure nostalgia for me. I grew up eating this every Sunday morning when this place was fully packed and meals were super cheap. I'm glad to see this place still here after so many years! My brother suggested to my fiancé and I that we come here for the nostalgia and we came just in time.Apparently they were closing early that day (around 5pm), so we just got there at the right moment. We already knew what we wanted, and that was the hiểu tiêu năm vàng (dry option) and they give you the soup on the side. Honestly, this is the only thing I'd recommend you get from this place because it's FIRE. It definitely tasted how I remember it to be, although I feel like the portions are smaller and it's not the early 2000's where it was probably less than $10 a bowl. There's so much flavor in this dish and I love the soup with the pork spare rib on the side. They also gave us Chinese donut to eat with our soup. They also have small chili peppers to add into the bowl too! Definitely loved pairing these with my noodles. Definitely love this place and it'll always have a special place in my heart. I'm glad to see it slightly remodeled over the years and it tastes exactly as I remembered it to be.
