Tacos El Compa Taqueria - San Jose

I'm not an expert on Mexican cuisine, but I chose this place due to its high ratings. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. The food was rather salty. The restaurant itself was small, which didn't bother me, but it seemed like they didn't have enough time to keep it clean. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.

I was taking fencing classes in the same plaza as Tacos El Compa and decided to check it out. They offer a wide variety on their menu, but they are especially known for their tortas. Priced at $16, one torta is enough to feed two people or can last for two meals. It's incredibly filling, packed with plenty of meat and ingredients. The flavors were outstanding, and I definitely enjoyed it more than their tacos. I highly recommend trying their tortas!

The food here is incredibly delicious and fresh, bursting with flavor. The portions are generous, so expect to leave feeling quite satisfied. This is definitely my go-to place, and I'll be a regular. Food rating: 5/5.

We loved this place!Went to this taqueria on a whim. They had really good reviews, so we took a detour before heading back up to Santa Clara.I got the Nacho fries with carne asada and 2 tacos with al pastor and carnitas. My spouse got 2 of the hot cheetos taco with al pastor and chorizo). He also got the chicken taquitos.Their asada was great flavorful and not dry! The fries they use (skinny fries) work well with the toppings in the nachos. We LOVED the al pastor! It wasn't pineapple forward like most al pastor out there, so we enjoyed it. The carnitas weren't the best that we've had, but at least it wasn't dry. We also enjoyed the hot cheetos tortilla surprisingly.My spouse liked the taquitos, but I thought they were on the dryer side. It really needed the salsa. Speaking of salsa, their roasted and green salsa were the better ones we've had, too.Don't pass on the aguas frescas either! I would go back just to try all of them.Overall, this is a very solid taqueria. ?

Hidden gem of San Jose, the tacos are huge and delicious shout out to El Jefe Taco so much cheese and the carnitas are perfect.Torta cubana is huge and serves 2 people easily.I hope they open other location soonFood: 5/5
