The food was absolutely delicious and the service was perfect. Will definitely return to Cabo during future travels.
Charming and delicious. The food was what our friend called “the real deal”. This is really authentic Mexican food. The chips Salsas beans and guacamole were perfection. The “Casseroles” of beef and chicken that we ordered with the homemade tortillas were different and delicious. Really Mexican flavors. It is obvious that time and care went into preparation for all our dishes. And yes, the tortilla soup was as special as the previous reviews have specified!! The most important lime and banana cream cakes were just as good. Very recommended if you want to experience real flavors in a charming atmosphere.
This was our most memorable meal in San José del Cabo. Not because it surpassed any high-end luxury details at fancier places, but because the deliciousness-to-price ratio beats any other meal I've had (anywhere), and because of the warmth of the hosts' welcome at this unique little place. It is basically just a little taqueria with plastic chairs, but serving cazuelas (casseroles / stews) instead of tacos. There are 4 cazuelas to choose from on any given day, but with the additional choices of whether to have it served as tacos, or in a bowl, or on a torta,or in a baked potato, and with or without extra cheese... there are plenty of options. Our table was large enough we managed to try all of the 4 cazuelas on offer, and sampled most of the different bases. The consensus was that the quezuelada version was by far the best (we should have just listened to Alberto and ordered them all that way), although it was a pretty even split whether we preferred the Lust or Envy. The chilled tequila shots were a nice touch. I don't know if this is a common way to serve tequila in Los Cabos, but this was the only time I saw it served from the freezer, and I'm happy to have learned the trick.
2mins Drive from Walmart. This smalle restaurant is run by husband and wife Alberto Nd Elizabeth. All entrees, soups, and desserts are home made. There are 7 casserole recipes total named after the 7 deadly sins, but only 4 are served each day. (Try a slice of the keylime pie if it's available.)Chips and salsa are complementary. When you first sit, start with a beverage, order your food, and start enjoying the chips and salsa. You pick the casserole and the pick the style you'd like it served, whether its tacos, torta sandwiches, in clay pot casseroles, or inside a baked potatoe. Casserole options: 2 vegetarian and 5 meats. First vegetarian is cactus, second is portobello mushroom. All the meats dishes contain pork, either chorizo or bacon, along with either beef or chicken. I enjoyed Lust (chicken) casserole as volcano (crisp tortilla, meat with cheese on top). When ordering the volcano, it's for EACH small tortilla so be sure to get multiple. If you get it in the clay pot, then it's a full meal and you only get one.The tortillas soup (vevetarian with small cubes of cheese) is the best tomatoes based soup we've had. It is homemade by one of their family friends. Non-alcoholic Beverages: bottled fresh juices infused water for $1.50 each. Kids loved guava or hibiscus.Alcoholic beverages: tequila shots, pacifico, modelo, michelob ultra, or corona. We're here for 7 days and are already back for another round after 1 day. Friendly place to each for adult and kids.
