I was eager to try this place and was a bit surprised when there were six employees behind the counter just hanging out. My son, 14, and I ordered. We found an outside table in the shade and had to ask for it to be cleaned. The employee brought a fork but no napkins. I went to get them from the station outside and there were none. Had to go inside to get some. I guess the employee couldn't be bothered to fill up the dispenser. So the food came and it was cold cold potatoes, cold bacon and my breakfast wrap was mushy and cold. In my corporate job, we used Jay's Catering many times and now knowing that's who owns it, I get it. The food doesn't appear to be made to order.....just dished out on a plate. His eggs were the only warm item. My son even mentioned how unsatisfying the experience was. In addition, the handicap door button didn't work so that's an ADA violation. I give new food places a one time opportunity; won't be going back to that place. Plus, there are some other good looking food establishments in the same area.
Such a special place. Service was friendly and the ambiance was unique. It was like stepping back in time and having a fresh and great breakfast in a clean and historical home. I will be back!
This place truly, truly earns 5 stars! Their food is fantastic and reasonably priced. And everybody is so happy there! This place is well worth The Visit if you are in the area!
I never miss the opportunity for a Kouign Amann (Queen Aman). Ellie’s is very different loaded with custard and crystallized sugar, but did not disappoint!! Great sandwiches and coffees too. We’ll be back.
