San Rafael Beach

This was a beautiful place where fresh and salt water cross. The river is beautiful with different waterfalls. Nice place to go with the family to spend a Sunday afternoon. Food is also pretty good.

San Rafael represents the heart of DR, with its pros and cons. The beach is one of the most beautiful I've seen, it will provide you a feeling of wild and dream together. The sea is connected with a River that comes down from the mountains and it presents many natural pools where you can relax, eat something and dance merengue. Locals are very nice and despite trying to sell you their products, they are also kind and curious to know you. The sea is dangerous and if you are not an expert swimmer I suggest you to not get inside fully. The road to reach San Rafael from Barrahona is beautiful but slow, giving you a sense of a different world where poverty and wild are still part of it. If you are adventurous and would like to visit the real Dominican Republic, you will take advantage of this place.

It is absolutely beautiful. You have to options here: river and beach. Be careful with the beach since it have strong waves and it’s pebble beach. Use some water shoes to go inside. For the river it’s very nice, cold and kids friendly. You can eat fresh sea food and fried fish wish are very good
