Café Roma - San Luis Obispo

Really nice dinner at Cafe Roma this evening. Excellent service, very good Italian food, and a good bottle of wine (half off the wine cuz it ' 's Tuesday . Best of all our puppy got to hang with us dining on patio-his first such experience. The restaurant has some nice vegetarian options, IMO.

Perfecto! Such a great dinner experience at Cafe Roma. On my recent visit to SLO, I had to stop at Cafe Roma. I hadn't been there in at least 15 years. It did not disappoint. I remembered the mozzarella appetizer, which is basically a large mozzarella stick the size of a plate. Luckily, they still had it. It was amazing. I had the mushroom ravioli and my husband had the bucatini. Everything was delicious. For dessert, I devoured the crème brûlée, and my husband had the Neapolitan bomba ice cream in a chocolate shell. Such a beautiful presentation. The service was great and the ambiance was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant!

So my husband invited me out for a nice date night. Since we're still new to this area in learning about different restaurants, every new place we go to is a surprise. Sometimes it's a pleasant surprise, and sometimes not. But no matter what, we always have a great adventure. Cafe Roma turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The restaurant was bustling with people, celebrating the holidays, families getting together and exchanging gifts. It was nice to feel the warmth that was in the air. Our waitress, Keisha, was a true professional. She took our order and made sure that we had time to enjoy each of our courses without hurrying or taking too much time between courses. I saw her glance over my Husband's shoulder at one point to make sure that we weren't finished or waiting for anything. And as the professional, she was, she also checked in multiple times to make sure that we were satisfied with our food. Which we both were. But her thoughtfulness and attention to detail was really amazing. We started with crabcakes, which were absolutely incredible. They were special on the menu, and if you have an opportunity to order them, I suggest you do that. Our next order was the French onion soup. The broth was very satisfying. There were plenty of onions and cheese in the soup just be prepared, The soup is hot! . Our entrées came and were excellent. I ordered the grilled veal which was absolutely delicious. Of course I couldn't finish my dinner, but I managed to take it the rest home. My husband really enjoyed his pasta as well. His ordered the pasta with a vodka sauce and pancetta. All in all, date night was a success would definitely come back to this charming restaurant.

We went to Roma last night for graduation dinner. We picked this place because we have had a generally good experience with food, service, hospitality, etc. While we did have some grace because we had a large party, every single dish came out cold. Every dish. Their fryers were also down so we had to send back multiple soggy, cold chicken parms. While our server was great and none of this was her fault, the owner/manager was super unpleasant. He kept asking us what we meant by cold ??? and insisted there was nothing wrong with our service. Though we sent back 5+ meals, he gave us little to no discount or apology. He ran into another room on our way out to avoid us as well. While this place is usually an okay spot, know that they are not equiped to handle large parties and the manager will try to argue with you if you have an issue with your meal.

Boyfriend surprised me with a date night at Cafe Roma! Always excited to have italian food and try a new place out. We were in a little time crunch and so prior to entering the place, we already knew what to get! For our meal, we ordered the saffron risotto and the tortellini di zucca. Then in addition to our meal, we ordered the maria rosas limoncelli martini and the roman mule. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the saffron risotto. Fortunately, they took it off our order since we only got one bite each. However, the tortellini di zucca was amazing. I am not a fan of squash but that dish was so good my partner and I were fighting for the last bite. The drinks were also a good addition to our dinner. I think the only thing we'd like next time is better service. We also noticed a couple other tables looking around for the waitress but no one came so we had to ask another waiter for assitance. But overall, a very nice experience!
