The chest nut and figatellu pates are delicious! The real highlight of this place however is the wine. Jean antoine has a well managed list featuring small runs of really interesting wines. Beginning with key players in the corsican wine scene and moving through to more experimental bottles, cantina is the sort of place where education is a good excuse to over indulge
Arriving in Moriani, you might prefer head to the beach for food. You might be right. But a cantina di Matteu has probably better products than the seafront restaurants do. Everything is authentic, locally sourced and tasty. The wine selection is great and you can buy an amazing selection of rare Corsican wonders to take home with you. The staff and especially the owner, who was born and raised in the village, are also very welcoming and charming. If you're in the area, you need to go take a look. And if you want any souvenir, a nice bottle of wine is better than a lousy t-shirt.
Beautiful place to taste Corsican products and a grocery store for the purchase of Corsican products.
