Barry Adelmann and his colleagues at Bay Area Modern are pros. Out of the blue I contacted Barry to see if a specific Eichler home model was coming on the market soon. Less than a month later we closed on the exact home we were looking for. In our case it was a home that hadn't even hit the market yet. Their knowledge of the local market and relationship with owners and potential sellers of Eichler homes distinguishes Bay Area Modern from all other realtors. They are also super kind and patient people who guide their clients through the complexity of a transaction, but don't pressure. Exceptionally irritating marketing practices. I was interested in checking out the Bay Area real estate market, and Bay Area Modern came up in one of my searches. To look through their listings, you have to enter a phone number and an email address. Fair enough. But then came the text messages. Daily. And the emails. Multiple per day. And worst of all, the phone calls. You know that thing that your mom does, where she calls you and when you don't pick up, she calls AGAIN five seconds later. Yep, that's what Bay Area Modern does. Daily. (And mom, if I don't pick up, it's because I'm not in the mood to talk, I swear I will call you back. I'm not sure what Bay Area Modern hopes to accomplish with this strategy, except to completely turn off potential clients. Not sure if it was the agent assigned to (harass me (Ivy , but mission accomplished.

So we had a terrible experience with Renee Adelmann not as clients, but as potential buyers. Personally, we'd never choose this agent to represent us, either as buyers or sellers.

We first met Hilary Davis in the very beginning of our home search journey in Terra Linda in the fall of 2021. She has been a great resource and provided a lot of terrific information and expertise as she is a Marin Local . Hilary 's knowledge of the market and solid industry connections (agents, lenders, inspectors, various contractors was instrumental to the purchase of our first home in spring of 2022 : After we closed escrow, Hilary was still on top of everything and assisted us by helping line us up with painters and floor refinishers. As new home buyers, we had very little experience in this and she was definitely a great help and provided guidance. We engaged Bay Area Modern about a year before we actually bought. We worked with Barry Adelmann to help us find the perfect first home for our growing family. We had extremely particular criteria and Barry was—for a year—profoundly patient, helpful, proactive and knowledgable about the homes, the process, the drama and all that goes into finding and buying a home.
