Akari - San Sebastian

Cena estupenda . Hemos cenado muy bien. Todo muy rico y el servicio muy atento. Destaco el entrecot y las gyoza, así como sus salsas.

En general la comida no nos ha desagradado, pero tampoco ha sido nada espectacular, ni nos ha entusiasmado. El servicio bastante flojito, y en el comedor hacia bastante calor (creo que son conscientes porque tienen puestos varios ventiladores en toda la sala. El precio nos ha parecido algo elevado para lo que es. Hay mejores opciones de restaurantes japoneses en San Sebastián.

Came here on the back of a recommendation. The menu was pretty small but we were still stuck for choice as it all sounded great. The mix of Basque and Japanese flavours worked really well and delivered a unique taste which was delicious!

If you were a fan of Txubillo, the great Japanese/Basque fusion restaurant, you’ll be thrilled to know Akari is the reincarnation of that gem. Many of the same great menu items, from the foie, tempura veggies, beautifully prepared fish and delicious torrija “french toast” dessert with ice cream). Also on the menu are some new items which are sure to please and we will be trying them on our many return visits. Unlike the old space which was darker and cave-like but cozy and charming), the new space is open, lighter in tone with more Japanese influences in its very stylish decor. Reasonably priced wine by the bottle or glass and a terrific, yet wholly different food experience from the traditional pintxo diet around town. This is a must try for foodies of all types.
