After server one scolded us for daring to take two mini tables outside for four of us, server two gave us the cold shoulder inside when we ordered. It felt a bit like pinxto police. The food was actually quite good, including chicken brochettes, fresh sardine sandwich, squid, and some funky looking sausage. Out six dishes combined with my Txomin Etxaniz drink, our bill for two was under 14 Euros. Not bad for a yummy lunch. I just wish the workers didn’t behave like we were a bother.
We stumbled across this spot while on the hunt for australian grade coffee. Nailed it! The best pintxos we've had thus far and good coffee. Will probably come back every day.
We called in for breakfast one day and we were so impressed we came back for lunch. We had the potato tortilla (potato omelette) each for €2.20 which also came with fresh baguettes. We had one of the best coffees we have had in 3 weeks in Spain for €1.50 each. At lunch we had the octopus salad to share for €7.40 and a couple of local wines for €1.50 a glass. Everything we had was fantastic and the place was full of locals. Highly recommended!!!
The food is very good, the staff very helpful and nice. It is a small place, but perfect for tapas. The price was ok. The fired squid (calamares) are very good!
You know a place is good when it is completely packed out with locals. it was recommended to us by a local has lived here all her life enough said! We had to wait 40 mins to get a table ... word of warning... arriving at 8:30 is peak time. It was so good we went a second time we arrived early 6:30 and had no trouble finding a table by 7:30 it was packed again. Had outstanding seafood skewers (octopus is sensational) and pulled beef in a tomato sauce. Also had a simple grilled vegetables dish so even vegetarians could survive in this meat eaters haven. Really like the local red Crianza 2 people, 2 glasses of wine food ~30 euros great value! Thoroughly recommend it enough English is spoken to get you by if you can't speak Basque or Spanish!
