Had fish and chips. The fish was lightly cooked and not oily, wonderful. Partner had the gammon which was again lightly cooked so was not dry at all as can sometimes happen. We will eat there again.
Recently visited for Sunday lunch. Pre booked a table for 6 people. 5 people had carvery and 1 from the menu. The food was very good. Service could have been a little better but the pub was packed and I hear they have only recently taken over so still settling in. Knowing which pub they come from I'm sure this will improve very soon and their excellent standards will be met. I will certainly be going back.
It was a nice atmosphere and the person serving on the bar was really nice and helpful. Food was decent, but they could've done with a better vegi offer.
Went recently for Sunday lunch, and the food was lovely. The service however... We were seated at 3pm, and ordered about 10 minutes later. Within this time 3 different members of staff came over to check what we were actually doing, were we eating, did we have menus. Once we had been served our mains (1 of which was the wrong dish initially which was changed) it was 40 minutes after we finished eating before we could get someone to clear plates and bring dessert menus. We had been in over 2hrs at this point and also had to go to the bar to get drinks where 3 members of waiting staff were playing on their phones and drinking cokes. When we finally ordered dessert, they brought the first 2 before then telling us that one of them was no longer available, then proceeding to bring the remaining few 1 at a time so we ate separately. I'll note the restaurant was not busy in the slightest, as a 3pm table we were the only ones sat in the conservatory and the rest of the pub was quiet. We commented to one waitress who it was clear was doing all the work for the other 3 staff and covering up their constant mistakes.
