The first table we were brought to had debris from crayons?(maybe) all over it and other clearly not cleaned aspects though it was fully set. The second table, which we stayed at, was sticky/tacky on the surface. Our server was quite good and replaced a dirty piece of silverware before I used it, but nothing about the experience really felt well put together besides her attention and demeanor.
Kenyon and Matt were top notch bartenders and hosts for our group in town for the weekend.
First of all, they don’t have frozen strawberry daiquiris or piña coladas, which is ridiculous at such a fancy restaurant. Also, for such a fancy restaurant, the food they give you is big enough to feed a bird. I got the Caesar salad and it was probably big enough to feed my toddler 2 year-old baby and it cost $16!. The lobster bisque had absolutely no lobster in it except for one tiny little bite of a claw that they throw in there at the beginning otherwise it tasted like opening up a can of tomato soup. I waited over 30 minutes to get my ice water refilled and they don’t give enough butter for all the bread that they give You . Way way way overpriced for the food that they give you the restaurant downstairs 71 has much better food, service and prices
Our server was very busy but handled multiple tables with style and ease. She was awesome and so engaging. Food was boss. Tried Bison dish, the fried artichoke hearts (oh my) and the lobster bisque. All excellent dishes. Going back for dinner tonight!
The Aerie is an amazing location with wonderful views and ambience. However, the food is like ok catering at a bad wedding and doesn't justify the price. Cesar Salad Basic Lamb Skewers Ok but they're overcooked ground lamb and nothing special Filet Ordered rare and it came out medium. That's not uncommon outside of the east coast and cattle country; but, that doesn't excuse it being under seasoned and tough. Honestly tasted like a cheaper grade of meat. Trout Overcooked and served on a bed of cold polenta(goo, sauce? Hazelnut decadence with ice cream good We ate everything and tipped well because I love Snowbird and this wasn't the fault of the FOH staff. I'm very disappointed and this is the last time I eat at the Aerie until they do a serious overhaul on the menu and invest in a better chef. Do yourself a favor and have a few drinks in the lounge, enjoy the view, listen to the piano, but don't waste your money on food here.
