St. Johns River Steak Seafood - Sanford

My friends and I recently celebrated a birthday at this restaurant and they were incredibly accommodating! We were a group of 12 and despite not having a reservation, I called just 2 hours in advance to let them know we were coming. When we arrived, they had a large table ready for us, which was fantastic. As for the food, we all opted for seafood dishes and we were blown away by how fresh and delicious everything was. We will definitely be returning!

The atmosphere and food at this restaurant are excellent! My husband tried frog legs for the first time and loved them. We also ordered baked oysters topped with bacon. I enjoyed a dish with fish, sausage, and shrimp served with yellow rice. The drink menu has a wide variety of options. The service was wonderful and attentive.

The view of Lake Monroe at this restaurant is stunning! We visited on a wonderful Sunday afternoon as a party of 3 and enjoyed dishes such as lobster bisque (amazing!), gator bites, shrimp po'boy, and the St. John burger. The burger was very tasty, although the gator bites were on the greasy side. The po'boy was good as well. The service was excellent. However, the restaurant itself needs some improvement. There was a broom in a corner right in the middle of the dining area with visible dirt accumulated around it. I asked the server to move the broom as it was near our table and not pleasant to see while eating. The server promptly moved it. Towards the end of our meal, the ceiling started dripping water onto our plates and table. Water was running through a column near us and staff had to bring in buckets to catch the leaks. I mentioned the issue to our server, who reacted rudely and said something that was hard to understand. In conclusion, the restaurant needs better maintenance. Despite the issues, I would return just for the amazing bisque!

This place was really good. The food was delicious. The drinks were also really good. I had the painkiller and my friend had the Bahama mom, both good. We had the rubber bears, knallkneipen, the crab cakes with cuddly puppies and baked man and cheese, Mahi-mahi and catfish. Everything was amazing.

Beautiful setting on Lake Monroe makes it a lovely dining place. We sat on the outside patio with tropical umbrellas. The Catfish and accessories and cheese were excellent!
