Seegasthaus Fischer-Wirt - Sankt Gilgen

Ate here twice - 4 of us. The view next to the lake is wonderful. I would have given 4 stars because I had fish twice. They were interesting and well prepared. My partner would have given 2 stars after having had meat dishes twice. They were badly cooked and very standard. So 3 stars it is. Worth it for the view.

I've been to this restaurant many times in each time I visit wolfgangesee, as it provides the best view of the lake were the restaurant is located. Recently I've noticed they added new dishes to the menu. The seafood platter I had was very good , the only negative item I noticed about the place has been allllllways the staff! Since the place is always full with customers in all cases apparently the staff were not trained to provide and good service ( or they simply don't care !) it's very difficult to talk to any of them and the service is poor ! Despite of that I always come back as the view is not to be missed!

The big draw here is the lakeside setting. Easy to find. The food was pretty good, especially the grilled salmon but the sides were ordinary (french fries, etc.)

Family of 3 ignored due to a big party coming in! Had to go without our lunch as we waited so long to be served and we had to get back on our coach hungry with an 11 year old. We were here well before the big party arrived but as soon as they got here it was all eyes on them. Lovely view but service totally lacking! Sort it out. Personal service is all. Very surprised at our treatment. Shame on you.

The view is fantastic and the price of menu is affordable. especially the fish platter was excellent along with the turkey Schnitzel!
