We arrived on Saturday noon. The place was not crowded. We took some local pork dishes. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. Very good value for money. I can recommend this place.
Love the cook, salads are the biggest. The atmosphere is also great. friendly cozy place to visit or have a meal.
General From previous visits we know the oxen; we visit them in conjunction with markets such as the Christmas brand or today the craft market. If the ox is in Saarbrücken or closer to it, we would visit it more often because we love old traditional restaurants and inns so much, especially if the menu contains traditional dishes and less chicimickikram! Apparently there is a summer and a winter map; we missed some of the latest dishes; for this time there was a special map of pipes and on the slate board as day offering calf with supplements and pumpkin soup with shrimps. Operation friendly and accommodating; repeatedly inconspicuous to see if everyone has to drink or other wishes remain. Only the bread ordered was forgotten; but since we were almost ready to eat, we do not remember. The food Unfortunately there is the beef soup that we do not currently have on the map from the last visit in best memory; also missing acidic roasts and delicious oxenbäckchen (can be offered for autumn or winter). As a substitute, we have eaten pumpkin soup with shrimp or french onion soup and then made Hoorish knepp with fresh cake and salad plate or Lionersalat Saugudd with roast potatoes. The onions contained in the onion soup were unfortunately only partly beautifully glassy; some were probably added at the last moment. But there was no taste of the soup. Why on the map (and later also on the invoice) Lioner with i (in Saarland, allegedly the home of Lyons, is usually the spelling with y usual) could not tell us the operation. Anyway, the card should have been enthusiastic about this Lionersalat Heinz Becker. Me too! The ambience for an in-depth look at the various photos, autograph cards, pictures, signed posters etc., which cover almost all walls in the front guest room as well as the rear room, an earlier butcher shop sales room. Everything very original, authentic and not decorated; here and the guest can feel comfortable. Cleanness Gottseidank not clinically pure, this would not correspond to the style of the house, but only clean.
Probably we landed here. A pristine pub, decorated from a mixture of old and kitsch, ask whether the spider webs are exactly as old as the decoration. Nice staff. The food, well: Rumpsteak good, Lioner with cheese rather faded a Kleck's crimp butter or any sauce or mustard would have helped, because the salad sauce has cost a lot after cured broth. We wouldn't return!
