Ponzu Japanese Sushi - Santa Ana

Love this place! after eating in ponzu I could not have sushi anywhere else. I had the Lollipop roll, a roll without rice wrapped in gurke, the halibut carpaccio was amazing and fresh. the surf and racing reel is highly recommended! I can't remember the name of the roll that my man ordered with my Lollipop reel on the photo?

This was the best sushi experience I've ever had! I ordered a sushi set and the double effort as an appetizer. The food was perfectly balanced and the service was top-notch.

Ponzu sushi is always very good, but we were discriminated during our last visit. we put our names on the waiter list, party of four total, two adult two children. the waitress went forward and sat down before us two parties, although they came after us. a party was only two people sitting at the bar, which is understandable, but the other party who came after us and so their names on the list sat down on a four sitting. that is really ridiculous and shameful, we were clearly discriminated, no doubt about it. so we came to get our sushi in ami sushi on the road, which is always tasty, fairly cheaper and they know how they feel welcome. we do not plan to visit ponzu again, this is super respectless and unacceptable.

We absolutely adore this restaurant. We are local residents and order from here at least once a week. Their bento boxes are outstanding, including fresh salad, gyoza, sushi, and more - all incredibly delicious! They never fail to impress us. I would advise against ordering the beef bento box as it is not the best option here. The staff is friendly and they offer daily specials that are worth trying. You can easily order takeout and enjoy their meals at home, with perfectly packaged orders. However, the prices are a bit high now, and for the same price, you can get high-quality food elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend trying it out.

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant thanks to Sky, who took great care of us! He was attentive and seasoned the food perfectly. However, the omakase was pricier than we expected at around $100 per person and only included about 6 bites of food. Although the sushi was some of the best I've ever had, be prepared to pay a premium for it.
