We love diners and the Plaza Cafe fits the bill. We were able to get a table inside (20 minute wait for outside seating) and enjoyed the decor and diner counter. They serve breakfast all day so I tried the Blue Corn Pinon Pancake with orange blossom butter and cinnamon syrup. It was very good and I loved the pine nuts. The homemade lemonade was delicious. A good place to take a break while walking around the plaza in Santa Fe. We also bought some of the salsa to take home as gifts.
Had dinner here last night (8.18.23), and ordered a chicken burrito to split with my wife. It was ok, nothing too exciting. Found bones in my chicken and mentioned it to our server, but little or no response (but, to add, he was excellent with great customer service). In addition, which I didn't mention to our server, the bottom of our plate was filthy where I could feel like the dish wasn't clean. It appeared that it went through the dishwasher but not cleaned well. It felt like there was food still stuck to the bottom. I didn't want to look while I was eating. My bad I should've called the manager. All in all, I can't see myself giving this establishment an overall 2 stars.
Professional, good communication during the waiting period. Server was well trained and friendly. Food came quickly even though the restaurant was busy. BLT-A sandwich and the Blue Corn Enchiladas were delicious.
We really enjoyed our lunch here. I got the fish tacos and they were yummy and the toppings were nice and fresh. My son ordered the Frito pie. He liked it, but said it was a little too spicy for him. Everyone wished they had ordered the French toast after my youngest got his food. It looked delicious (and it was! . It was coated in crunchy corn flakes, and dusted with powdered sugar. Yum. My husband liked his salad, but thought it was overpriced. I loved the atmosphere. Kinda a diner vibe.
