Downstairs, one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. Come here early as it's busy and right! the coffee is somewhat weak, but eating it is worth it. Christmas is the way to get a taste of both the green and red chiles.
So. we said that this is the place to go to the breakfast in santa fe, and we were not abandoned. ness was our waitress and delivered great service. I would highly recommend sofias and hope to go back when I return to santa fe.
Saturday morning, I had the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito, red and green sauces, and it was amazing, it meets the hype. Even more impressive were the blue corn pancakes with the pinon nuts. I would suggest getting a couple on the side, you need to try both specialties!
This restaurant was discussed during our Santa Fe tour. It was highly recommended by our guide so we decided to have our lunch there. It certainly lives up to its hype. It is not a glitzy eatery but a basic restaurant that provides delicious food. I had the red/green chili enchiladas which were pretty spicy for me but worth the sting. I am an average spice-level person so those really into it may not feel it is that much but the flavors go beyond mere heat. Those who prefer mild fare beware. Served alongside was sopapilla and honey. Oh! Wow! Enough said. Service was friendly and helpful. The place is popular and opens early and closes by 2pm. So factor that in when you make plans. Their hours don’t make it worth a liquor license so the do not serve beer. Certainly not any deal breaker but keep it in mind. Tia Sophia’s is definitely a local legend and is worth finding out why.
