The property has its beach and there are many beaches in the area. I'll say I'm not a fan of selecting the foods they offer, just some of them is authentic for the Dominican Republic.
Resort location is good, too long drive 1 hour and a half from the airport. The weather is great, warm water. Service could, however, be ordered better, only a cup of coffee twice, different waiters. And no reaction, no coffee next to the table, family asked for two cups of tea. This ended with the man who went to the station and even got tea: At the beach bar, bartender looked around and chatting with waiters pretending he wouldn't see two guests in the line. Seriously? Very poor service
The hotel is not really so great. There were less food in the buffet of this resort compared to the other buffet in other resort I was in. The food is not really good. The service is a large 0. Mostly there was no coffee and no milk. No one came to our tables to ask us if we want to drink. The hotel rooms are okay. The pool and the shows were okay. The sea is really beautiful.
The resort was an hour and a half from the airport so that the trip after a 4 hour flight. The lobby was small, clean and pleasant. It looked like the resort had done a lot of work with it and some areas didn't look open. The card and the guest package were terrible. Poorly photocopied, could not read the map and small information. The Wifi costs $4USD a day, $10 for 3 days and the safe was the same price. Even in Cuba, we never paid for WiFi or the safe. I thought it was a demolition. Our safe didn't even have a lock and sat on a luggage rack. Our room was painted before and had a nice walk in the shower. The balcony door was not closed, but we were on the second floor. The **** was loose on the sink. A/C worked very well and we had a lot of hot water. The beds looked the other day, but were uncomfortable and pillows were tiny. The main buffet had very repetitive dishes, but it usually tasted good. Tang for orange juice and no drinks at the bar in the restaurant except beer and wine. After 5 days they moved the main buffet to the beach restaurant that had a leak roof. The menu was even smaller there. We didn't go to the a la carte restaurants. One was at an extra cost and the other Italian restaurant when we asked had only seafood on the menu, but the menu was not available to see before booking. There were small daily activities, but not much. The beach was beautiful. There were always some washed-out seagrass, but the staff kept clearing it. The beach and pool bars were okay, but drinks were random. Order the same drink twice and get completely different drinks or ingredients missing. The staff was usually pleasant and their English was quite decent, which was good as I still work on my Spanish. When the resort was nice and quiet. If they repair it and all rooms open (I suspect it suffered storm damage), it would be very nice, but I suspect that the amenities would not support the amount of guests. I prefer the resorts that are small and spread more than big hotels and know that sometimes you don't get the same quality. This resort would have better with what it had, but I would return if the price was right.
The beach is beautifull but the hotel is bad. Rooms are in bad shape, personell is unfriendly, food choice is limiter. No way this is a 4 star hotel.
