Heladeria Coppelia - Santa Clara

One of the things we did before leaving Santa Clara, in addition to seeing all the Che sculptures and exploring its small historic center, was to enjoy some delicious ice cream at Coppelia, the most famous and popular chain of ice cream shops in Cuba. Coppelia is located on Colón Street, one of the main streets of Santa Clara, just one block from Leoncio Vidal Park, the city's main square. Compared to other Coppelia shops we had visited in Morón or Camagüey, the one in Santa Clara is huge, with more than 50 tables spread throughout the ground floor of the semi-open building. The day we went, they only had orange flavor with fruit, but despite it not being one of our favorite flavors, it was still good and, as always, super affordable. A serving of ice cream with 5 scoops costs no more than 4 pesos, which is about 30 cents in euros. We also didn't have to wait in line, even though queues at these shops can be very long, especially in Havana. So, if you're in Santa Clara and craving ice cream, this is a very good option, if not the best option.

While in Santa Clara, one of the things we did before leaving was visit the famous Coppelia ice cream parlor. Located on Colon Street, just one block away from the city square, this popular chain of ice cream parlors offers a wide variety of flavors at affordable prices. Compared to other Coppelia locations we had visited in the past, the one in Santa Clara was impressively large with over 50 tables spread throughout the semi-open building. Although we only tried the orange flavor with fruit, which wasn't our favorite, it still tasted good and was very reasonably priced. A serving of 5 scoops of ice cream cost less than 4 pesos, which is about 30 cents in euro. Luckily, we didn't have to wait in line during our visit, as the lines at this ice cream parlor can often be quite long, especially in the evenings. If you find yourself in Santa Clara and craving ice cream, Coppelia is a great option to satisfy your sweet tooth.

It's also a great spot for a family outing.
