We drove from San Francisco to Santa Cruz just to indulge in the chocolate at Mutari. Their frozen hot chocolate is a dream come true - rich, creamy, and incredibly indulgent. The chocolate sauce is unlike any other, far superior to Hershey's. I always opt for the coconut whip topping, which pairs perfectly with the freshly roasted cacao nibs for a fruity, toasty crunch. And to top it off, the entire treat is vegan-friendly, so lactose intolerant individuals like myself can enjoy it guilt-free! Their brownies are also amazing, as well as their single source chocolate bars from various countries. In my opinion, everything on the menu is worth trying. While it may be a bit pricey, quality chocolate is worth the cost. Parking is available in the adjacent lot on the left side of the building.

The frozen chocolate drink here is honestly life changing. If I could give this place 6 stars I would! I believe everyone in the world would benefit from experiencing this decadent euphoric beverage at least one in their life. In addition because Mutari uses a coconut cream base, all the drinks are dairy free +vegan which is a great plus for somebody trying to find an intimate desert alternative for a date. One sip of this drink and you will feel pampered, cured, and deeply connected with your inner child.

Mutari Chocolate, I adore you. As a chocolate enthusiast, I have naturally discovered the best chocolate spot in Santa Cruz. The brownie and chocolate chip cookie are absolutely delicious and worth every penny. I am a loyal fan of Mutari.

I started with the frozen hot chocolate topped with coconut whipped cream. While it was enjoyable at first, the thick texture, bitterness, and cacao nib chunks became a bit overwhelming for me. I didn't finish the drink, but I did recognize the quality of the chocolate. The epic brownie was a bit too fudgy for my taste - I prefer chewier brownies. However, if you prefer rich and fudgy brownies, you will probably love this one. One highlight of my visit was the chocolate chunk cookie that was freshly baked. It was absolutely amazing - crunchy on the edges, chewy and gooey in the middle, and perfectly balanced in terms of chocolate and salt. It was a bit buttery, which gave me a bit of a stomachache due to my dietary sensitivities, but I have no regrets about indulging in this delicious cookie. I'm already looking forward to getting a take-home pack of these cookies next time. I can't wait to return and explore more items on the menu, especially those amazing cookies, and introduce my friends to this fantastic place.

The chocolate tasting tour at Mutari is fantastic. We gained a lot of knowledge about the art of chocolate making and sampled over 10 different chocolate bars. We were surprised by the many nuances in chocolate flavors. We are grateful to the owner, Katie, for providing us with this amazing experience.
