Supper on the beach. The Huachinago Vercruz (red snapper) was good although there was much too much sauce. Same for my partner's order of ceviche. More sauce than anything. Tomato sauce may be original and is similar to the flavour of Libby's or Hunt's shrimp cocktail sauce. Service was okay. Nice to sit there and see all kinds of musicians strolling and playing. Watch your bill. Tip included!

Busy with Mexican. No drink list so check your bill and ask for prices. We were quoted differently..

Huatulco Bay has several beachside restaurants and this happened to be the one we were steered into by an enterprising local. At first, the menu looked fine and we saw many people enjoying food and the wifi. We ordered three beer and shared a lunch of chips with salsa and guacamole. Anywhere else in Mexico this modest meal would have cost no more than $10 US. We received the bill and were surprised at the amount about $28 US $4 apiece for beer). We had brought along pesos and you can usually get some savings when you pay in local currency, but not this time. In the downtown Centro area you can get a beer for $2 the going rate anywhere else in Mexico). Ask how about the price of drinks before you get steered into these tourist trap beachfront restaurants.

We arrived on a Princess cruise, walked around the beach front town, and stopped in for beer, chips/salsa, and quesadillas. It was wonderful. We paid attention to the menu prices and the bill was spot on. As far as the negative reviews go, our experience was wonderful. For those who complained about it being “touristy” well look around. The whole area along the beach is for tourists see photo. The real town is a short walk or taxi ride away. Go there if you want to go native. For us, it was great and very convenient.

My wife and I had 4 drinks, two coronas and two margaritas, they tried charging us $40.00 $10.00 tip US dollars, I said in Spanish I wanted to see the drink menu, they lowered the bill to $40.00 US including tip. Advise ask for the drink menu before ordering and may in pesos.
