I would certainly return to la posada, but I would be more accurate about the situation. they also call for monique that helped us with luggage to get car service and was just always helpful. the hotel is pet friendly.
The good: the location of the hotel is in close proximity to downtown historic Santa Fe, and there is a certain charm to the layout and design of the hotel (if a bit dated and worn). The hotel appeared very dog friendly, which could be an advantage or disadvantage depending upon your outlook. My room was relatively quiet (but it was also February) and in working order. The unforgiveable: I was charged for an extra night's stay, as well as the food and beverages for other guests. Generally, this wouldn't be an issue worthy of complaint: mistakes happen and most managers would immediately reconcile the billing. Here, however, I was reimbursed for the extra night and the other guests' charges from that night, but a rather hefty bar bill was left on my account from the prior night. La Posada's former General Manager confirmed that the charge was not associated with my use, but SIX MONTHS LATER I have still not received a refund. More irritatingly, I have emailed the purported manager a half a dozen times, left several voicemails with the same manager, and requested assistance from Bonvoy Customer Service, and the hotel still refuses to reimburse me. In fact, they have declined to even respond to my emails or return my phone calls. All in all, it seemed like there were several other convenient hotels in the area. This hotel is not up to the general standards of the Marriott Premium brand, and I wouldn't stay here unless you don't mind the idea of filing a small claims action.
We wanted a suite and did get a living room. Saying that what we also got was tv’s hung on walls that are positioned to view so that you have to crane your neck to see them, missing remotes, dark rooms, our window broken and taped together, dirty carpet, unfriendly valet, should I go on ? It was overpriced and very average. We will not stay here again..oh and it was expensive to boot.
This property has beautiful and well maintained grounds. It has a friendly staff and a great location just off the Plaza. It should be a luxury resort and, in parts, it is. But, I agree with other reviewers, that many of the rooms need an upgrade and to be refreshed. My one-bedroom suit had a non-working fridge, a broken window that would open and not shut, a stained and dirty carpet that needs to be replaced and broken and chipped old furniture. It could also use a paint job. At the pool, the cushions were stained and looked old and the rattan side tables had holes. It's as though Marriott needs to come in and refresh the rooms. That said, it is a beautiful setting, a calm oasis and impressive grounds. It has a friendly and lively bar and a nice restaurant and interesting history. I would like to see the owners invest some money to improve the quality of the rooms. Make them as good as the public areas.
This was my fourth time to stay here because of the warm hospitality, perfect location and great restaurant. It's a 10 minute walk to Canyon Road with all the shops and restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the Plaza and museums. It's in a lovely quiet neighborhood, the rooms are very comfortable and the personnel are incredibly helpful. They're is valet parking on site and there's a wonderful spa. It's hard to leave here once you've checked in!!
