Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza hotel restaurants' name is Ortiz. The Hilton breakfast buffet is below average in every way. This is not what you would expect when paying $300 a night or even $19.50 for the breakfast buffett. I hope the food beverage manager(s) of the hotel read this review and improve the choices for your guests. The pastries are advertised as house made and they are Hilton (food service) stores house bought. the breads are the same, tasteless fare. They don't have sourdough bread? The fruit mix from the breakfast buffett looked like it had been prepared previously and was old. The chefs' omelette station and omelettes were good. Please fresh choices for your guests. The coffee was absolutely flavorless. The service station, for the servers, on table in the middle of the restaurant. is distracting and takes away from the enjoyment of your guests. The servers were courteous. The restaurant bar are clean. Lunch Happy Hour, mixed drinks were very good. The chips and salsa and guacamole were a pass. The chips tasted old. The guacamole was fine, except it looked a bit brown. The server told me the salsa was house made, Im not sure it was however.
Went for a margarita on the #SahtaFeMargaritaTrail and they didn’t have the QR code to get credit for the margarita! I would be happy to update this once this issues is resolved.
Don’t even think about going. While I will not name people, they are not friendly or caring. The front desk said “they hear issues with them a lot”. Their words not mine. On a positive note: the BLT sandwich was good. Service was so poor I had to post this.
No one greeted us. After we were told to seat ourselves they told us we sat in the wrong area. Sat our family of four at a cocktail table in the bar. 30 minutes to get drinks. Hour and 15 minutes to get food. One drink refill the whole time. Food was OK at best and far from the quality I would expect from at $25 per plate price tag. Did I mention no kid menus? Should have gone with my gut and left early on. I am a loyal Hilton customer but this was a HUGE miss. Not what I expect from a Hilton property.
