The starters were a very pleasant peach gazpacho with tomatoes and goat cheese cream cream fraiche, and the tuna tars was also good. Entrées were the roasted chicken with cherries, celery and grapes in a beautiful sauce super delicate. The 3 large scallops were perfectly arranged with tomatoes and other vegetables. There was enough room for Dessert. Had the chocolate opera cake and lemon butter milk cake. Perfect portions. Great service!
The pastrami sandwich is sooooo delicious! Drinks are always the best! Lunch on the patio is dreamy. Dinner is also so wonderful. Shnitzel is the best ever!
Excellent food and service. The oysters on the half shell were great, the freshest I've had in New Mexico. The fresh squeezed lime Mezcal cocktail was the perfect accompaniment. Wine selection was also unequaled to anything I've seen since moving from the west coast. Scallops and grits and the pork tenderloin were excellent as was the apple caramel cheesecake dessert. Will be savoring this meal for a long time to come.
That was our 5th time to eat here, I think the last times put the bar very high. We were very disappointed tonight with our experience. We had a subpar waiter who spent more time in a storage cabinet than to maintain tables. We shared a salad, but it looked like it came out of a bag. I had more confused leaves than fresh. My duck was very good, I had the chicken breast. It was perfectly prepared, very tasty. My husband ordered the code and first knew what was going on. I also tried a bite and knew the same thing. Our waiter had only asked how things were right after the arrival of the plates. He did not appear again or noticed that we had shared the chicken in the end. When he finally came out of the storage cabinet again (picture, when the cabinet was included, it was in my setup), he realized that the code was not touched. We explained it was out, we didn't want them to think we didn't want to pay, so we offered to pay, and he left everything in the air. When he returned, he said you let me take off the fish, no professional answer to a problem. A visit to a GM would have been nice. We skipped Dessert and left. We had been in the middle of an hour. We are so disappointed and will put the compound on our list. Also, only a secondary note, the cutlery was disguised and suspicious. Details are important when you take care of the details, it will overlook more. I know it's hard to find good help, but you need to train your people, and our waiter could have used this as well as some supervision. Historically, we spent a lot of time and money here and enjoyed it. I am also sorry that the young lady supported the waiter, she was very sweet and tried her best.
That was one of the best meals I ever had. The quality and freshness of the foods was phenomenal. I'm pretty sure I said after every bite. I ordered the organic breast of Chicken, Grilled Apricot Garzpacho and the California Cherry Tart. Every penny worth it! Kuddos to the entire staff in The Compound. If you? back to dinner I?d buffer at least 2 hours to enjoy throughout the experience. Can wait to come back the next time I?m in Santa Fe!
