One of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe for value, ease of getting a table, atmosphere, and the great sopapillas. The service was rushed and our guests who hadn't been there before felt the menu wasn't explained to them adequately, for instance what type of chile they could have and the selection of beans, refried or whole. My brother in law ordered 2 beers after we got our food and they were poured but left at the bar and never brought to our table. He had to go get them. We had to ask several waiters to get the additional chips we wanted before they were delivered. The wait staff needs to slow down a bit and be more gracious. This is a frequent occurrence there.
Always our first stop when we come to the city different. Met the new owners, super friendly and excited to continue on the great traditions at Gabriel's! Our server Bryan is the hardest working young man and always welcomes us like family! The table side guacamole is unbeaten! We loved the margaritas, fajitas and the patio was the perfect spot for our evening! Don't miss out on this short drive to a special place!
Gabriels was wonderful as it always is. We were celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary with a large party of 17. We were well attended to and the food was fast and delicious.
Dinner was ok but didn't seem up to some of the rave reviews I saw. The outdoor patio was lovely with a great view of the mountains. The guacamole prepared table side was good but $17.50 was too much for an appetizer. Chips were very good!
