While I am not a vegatarian, last night I felt like a change from the fish that I usually eat when I go to a restaurant in Puerto Escondido. The menu as a full page of vegetarian options, I chose the pasta with vegetables...I was...offered a choice of three different pastas...I chose fettucini... The meal was excellent, the pasta perfectly cooked and the vegetables fresh...no heavy sauce, just a light olive oil...it was a great choice...
Went w 3 others for dinner. Their food service ok. I ordered the fish. It came w a sauce that was NOT palatable. With much anxt I sent it back ordered a salad thinking it might arrive to the table before everyone...else was completely finished eating. I was wrong. I think it took 20 minutes and arrived without dressing that I waited another five minutes for. By then I had lost interest in eating. For me the meal was a total disappointment and the service not commendable. My friends enjoyed their meals. When the bill came in the meal I sent back was included and I had to insist that it be removed from the total. The restaurant is pricey with beers being twice the amount of other nearby restaurants. Later that evening I burped and the taste of the fish’s sauce came back up like vomit. This is definitely a bad review for a prominent restaurant. On a brighter side, the setting is very nice and as the evening progressed many bats flew in and out of the area which was delightful. Nice ventilation under the large palapa with fans breeze from ocean. Comfortable chairs. Beautiful plates and bowls made by a local potters. People were smoking nearby and I couldn’t smell it which was also really nice. They got to enjoy their cigarettes and I got to enjoy not inhaling the smoke! Definitely an off night for what I ordered. I might go back since my friend who is a vegan enjoyed the mushroom soup a lot.
I had a wonderful meal here in the beautiful setting of the historic Hotel Santa Fe overlooking Playa Zicatela while taking in a beautiful sunset. The service was very attentive and the meal tasty. There was also live music after the sun went down which...further added to the ambiance. Afterward, a stroll through the spectacular courtyards and swimming pools at the Hotel Santa Fe lent the experience a charming, Old World feel. Highly recommend at least one meal here at the Restaurant Santa Fe.
A very comfortable place to eat with a good view of Zicatela Beach and the ocean. They don t serve meat but the fish is excellant. Great Slaads and soups I liked the Chile Reneno out standing. also Pepe a local played the flute all during...dinner. Most enjoyable this place is first class with first class service.
