Contribuisci feedbackThe most successful interpretation ever of this classic of traditional Portuguese cuisine. The ritual, the presence and contextualization of Chef Luís Sottomayor, the correct cooking points in almost 20 different ingredients, the supreme quality of the meats and sausages and a crunchy and imposing bread crust. Grateful for having received us so well and particularly for the kindness of leaving us in conversation almost the whole afternoon... Excellent value for money. Congratulations and well done!!! Best wishes...
Nice athmosfere and pleasant staff Choice was the “Cozido no pão”. Not bad at all but something’s missing like, for instance, a cup o rice. Price above average for the ordered main course and wine served.
WoW! Something is not right. I have always relied on trypadvisory when choosing a restaurant and every experience was really great, but at Adega O Monhe I felt like I was scammed! The restaurant is best known for its “cozido”… but it does not serve the “cozido” ! … unless you have ordered it four days in advance! In addition, you can choose from the menu, which as you were clearly told were individual sizes, and the buffet. The menu was quite expensive and when we look to other tables, it was served in individual plates so as individuals order but the plate was huge… so as to justify the absurd price they were charging if you cannot charge on quality you charge on quantity this is just an opinion as we did not have the “individual” menu as we thought it should not be worth the price . As it was late, and we were hungry, we were left with no choice but the buffet, and the food was horrible! Worst lunch of my life. The appetizers were very scarce and nothing special and the main dishes, completely rubbish. In the end, we had the coffee as it was included in the price of the buffet and even the coffee was awful. Worst experience of my life! Maybe the cozido is great and I am being too hard, but the restaurant is famous for its cozido and we were not never told we book the table in advance we needed to order the cozido at least four days in advance and once there we were left with two options: Individual huge orders at an absurd price or a very poor buffet… so it felt like we were pushed to a scam.
Great stew on the bread! Great meat choices for a fish that takes 40hrs to prepare and cook. Awsome...
Here you find typical food, a good service, a very quiet and agreeable ambience with nice people. It is easy to park the car around and close the restaurant. It is best to book before.
