The tour of the facilities was awesome! The owner, Claudia (I think that was her name), was outstanding. So knowledgeable and just a fantastic story behind the last 170 years there. Two coffees are included in the tour and we even purchased beans to take back to NZ. Definitely recommend.
Unfortunately I was not able to review the coffee tour so I am adding it to the restaurant. The tour is definitely worth the trip. We took the motorbikes up and even so it seems like a scary trip, they are very good riders and know the trail. The tour was very educational and Claudia our tour guide (also one of the owners) was excellent! She speaks several languages and was able to answer every question in the respective language. It is so interesting to find a coffee plantation that was established in 1892. Amazing how the equipment is still functioning today.
NOTE: I couldn’t find a way to review La Victoria’s coffee tour, so I’m sneaking it in here! I’m also not sure how the food at the little cafe earned best restaurant in Minca (see ‘Lazy Cat’!! , but it’s worth having a fresh beer and snack after the tour. The tour around La Victoria and learning about their ageless coffee production process is wonderful. Enjoy two cups on tour, then buy some beans to bring home! Recommended.
If you think you have 'done ' coffee farms please don 't skip La Victoria. It 's different. So interesting to see the old equipment shipped out from England 100 years ago still in use. I had a tour from Claudia the owner, so interesting. The journey to get here on moto taxi is a thrill in itself!
