Loves the team of boa Santa Monica. Great service, always puts the customer first, and they take care of their customers in a degree I have never seen anywhere else. Thanks to the staff. Will definitely be back
Great experience. Great staff. Only the problem was the parking lot. It's a separate group. We had the last reservation at 10:15. The parking lot closed at 11:30, so at 11:25, everyone who was still in the restaurant had to take his car to the street parking, which the counter costs $ 2.50 per hour. Not particularly big break mid dinner.
The sunset is much better. If I want to pay for a $500 dinner, I don't want to sit on the street. Server only twice all night. We had to have the server from the next table to help us.
We went for Valentines Day pre-fix so that may have been a mistake on our end. The menu looked alright, quite small, about 3 options for each course. The ambiance was great, very nice restaurant. It was Valentine’s Day and you could see the staff was frantically all over the place. We ordered Old Fashioneds first and they came out quick, and were great! Our server was very nice, the tables were about 1 foot apart so you are very close to guest. Guess we felt a little cramped in between two tables. The first course took awhile to come out, a Ceasar salad and beef carpaccio. Shouldn’t take that long you would think. Not sure if server put it in late or kitchen backed up. However, both appetizers tasted delicious, beef carpaccio was amazing. When we were still enjoying them our 2nd course came out, we were only about half way through our course, the food runner sort of just named them put them on the table and left. Perhaps a courtesy “I see you are still enjoying your first course, would you like us to retire this in a little bit?” Usually at a restaurant with a pre-fix the server sees when you are finished with your first course and fires your second. Again this may have just been a once the full order is in the kitchen. not sure what happened. We then had a long awkward wait for our second course to come back out. Finally it came out, now on to our 2nd drinks, really like glassware. The second course was a lobster bisque and crab cake, they both tasted grThe third course came out at the right timing. The steaks were good, but not amazing, we have had better. We had the petite filet and upgrade one steak for $15 to NY. We also ordered a lobster tail $29 surcharge on menu, but it was over-cooked. We found out on check it was $95, because server ordered bigger one. We mentioned to server and she took off round of drinks. Overall, it was not a great experience $600 tab) we live in Santa Monica so might try one day again, but prefer Meat on Ocean or Mastros.
