Jinya was amazing and one of the best ramen shops I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting! The menu is extensive, there are lots of traditional meat, vegetarian and vegan options, and the ramen bowls are huge! And everything is very well priced for the size and offerings. All 4 of us were very happy with our choices, and each of our dishes was full of flavor and complexity. Perhaps the best part was being able to read the owner’s story on the menu, which gave more depth to the love they put into the menu and service. We were at the Santa Monica location which had indoor dining and a huge outdoor/covered patio area with a large gas firepit. I highly recommend a visit to Jinya!
The spicy vegan ramen is so good!! The dining room is cool and the music is good!!
So this is the review of this place. 1. Decoration 7/10 it had a good decoration, but a couple of decorations needed a little bit of love. 2. Service 9/10 the service was very good and very polite 3. Ambiance 7/10 it had a good vibe, but not so many people during the day 4. Food 6.5/10 now this one was a bit hard because the crispy chicken was a bit raw ?? Could be dangerous and the spinach was cold (look at the picture of the two different colors in the chicken), but the ramen was good 5. Cleanest 6.5/10 OK this place needs a bit of clean up in certain areas. Yes, I do recommend only for ramen.
Overall average. Best ramen I've had in LA thus far. they're a bit skimpy on serving sizes, not putting in enough broth and only 2 little slices of pork belly that could use some help honestly. If I'm paying $20 for ramen at least fill the bowl, put in more noodles, char Sui and more toppings. broth is good, noodles are decent. I really want to love this place but they need to level up. bigger portions would go a long way.
