Hello. We made a reservation for a table of four, which was not just for myself. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet our expectations. The naan we ordered was not cooked properly. The non-vegetarian dishes, particularly the Kashmiri Rogan Josh, were black in color when they should have been more appealing. When we asked for a replacement, the waiter with a mustache informed us that the cook had already addressed the issue. This might be the first restaurant in LA where I had to pay a 20% service fee on the bill. While we appreciate food from any source, I just wanted to share our disappointing experience.
We went to dinner on Friday night. The food was delicious, especially the classic dosa. The Spicing for Sambal and Chutney was very good. When we arrived, the service was a little frosty, once sitting, the service was good and the staff friendly. Hopefully back soon.
Just 5 minutes from Santa Monica Pier, this restaurant has a really great vibe. Honestly, it exceeded my expectations. We ordered the bhelpuri, cheese dosa, and channa batura, and everything tasted quite good. While I wouldn't say it was extraordinary, it was definitely a pleasant meal. The ambiance was lovely, with a clean and well-lit atmosphere. The waitstaff was attentive and helpful. I consider it a good spot for a quick bite. I'd rate it 8 out of 10. By the way, I learned that the tumbi is a Punjabi string instrument!
Hands-down the best Indian food in LA for me! Appetizers: Panipuris were crisp, fresh and the pani was just the right amount of tangy! The wada pav was soft, crunchy and the idle fries are a stroke of genius. The avocado bhelpuri are pretty dope! Never knew avocados would go that well with that spice palette. Main course: The butter chicken is so good and so rich! We ordered it twice! The laccha parattha and the garlic naan compliment the dishes really well! Dessert: Kulfi: they have malai, pistachio and mango flavors! So smooth, so rich and a good portion size The deconstructed carrot halwa: probably haven?t had dessert that good in a while. They serve it with ice cream and granola which gels so well with the halwa! 10/10- would come again ?
