Maremondo - Santander

We were waiting ages to get served and the staff were terribly rude and unhelpful. The food was not great and took ages. Not worth it at all The only nice thing was the view but overall everything ruined out experience here. I would NOT recommend you to come here

We stopped in Santander for a day after getting off our ferry, we planned to go to a different restaurant however it was unfortunately closed. We soon found Maremondo and decided to give it a go after seeing such a buzzing atmosphere! Although we speak only English staff were able to communicate and some speak fluent English, communication was brilliant! We were placed in the restaurant which was fine until we saw the food being served to the more laid-back part of the restaurant itself, making the immediate response to move. Our food was quick, and usually, with quick food, you expect bad quality. But here that's different! Food was quick and to adore, We shared calamari and a burger, both were delightful. The waiters seemed very on hand and ready to serve, clearly used to such a busy working atmosphere! I would recommend this place despite the few poor reviews.. Nice place overall.

English Below La cocina, buena, los camareros muy amables, pero no podían atender tantas mesas, corrían y corrían de una mesa a otra, algo no muy agradable, ni para ellos, ni para los clientes. Por poner un ejemplo, pedimos dos vinos dulces con el postre y tardaron en servirnos, 20 minutos (al final el jefe de sala, consciente de la situación nos invito a estos vinos) En fin, el servicio, un desastre, repito, no por culpa de los trabajadores. The kitchen, good, the waiters very friendly, but they could not serve so many tables, they ran and ran from one table to another, something not very pleasant, neither for them, nor for the customers. To give an example, we ordered two sweet wines with dessert and it took them 20 minutes to serve us (at the end, the head of the room, aware of the situation, invited us to these wines) Anyway, the service, a disaster, I repeat, not because workers fault.

We were not impressed with this restaurant. The only vegetarian option was a plate of vegetables for €15. We were given bread with some sort of dip (we thought maybe anchovy) which I couldn’t eat as I’m a vegetarian and my son found it inedible. My husband ate the lot (just as well as we were charged €5 we’d assumed it was complimentary).

Teníamos tiempo para irnos. Fuimos a cenar, el lugar es súper sencillo y lindo. lo que hace que el lugar perfecto es la vista del mar, así que recomiendo ir el día o cuando la noche cae. Hicimos una reserva pero estaba casi solo, la atención era excelente. tanto de los que nos sentíamos como quienes asistieron. Pedimos merluza y risotto de hongos ambos eran muy buenos pero especialmente la merluza que era deliciosa. Pedimos el tiramisu súper recomendado., no tan dulce o tan simple, era perfecto. la atmósfera en general es súper tranquila, realmente inspira mucha calma (o al menos el día que fuimos) y en total gastamos casi 70€ una buena experiencia
