El Rancho - Santee

Staff is friendly, This place is certainly a neighborhood local hangout: I can see coming here and watching the game and having a few drinks. I had the pozole that everyone seems to be reviewing about. It was okay. Broth has a good flavor but it was not amazing. 3 beef rolled taco was okay as well nothing to rave about: small for the price though. So overall this place is a solid 3 stars for me.

Easily my least favorite of our San Diego stops. Two major complaints: 1) There was virtually no white sauce in the fish burrito. Like, almost dry. I mean. Come on. This is San Diego. That's criminal. 2) With the exception of the fish burrito, there was not nearly enough meat. In both the carne asada burrito and the El Chakas (half carne asada, half adovada), at each end, I felt like I was chewing massive pieces of flour tortilla and almost nothing else. You can actually see in the photos all the folds of tortilla. Compare this to the all the other burritos I got during my SD trip and I couln't help but rate this place much lower. With all the other amazing California Mexican food in this area, it is unlikely I will come back on my next trip. Meh.

Phenomenal. Love this place! Really good burritos, great customer service! Newly remodeled restaurant. Are usually just pick up to go and we always enjoy their food.

Love this place!! I always get the beef tacos with rice and beans. Extra habanero sauce (very hot and tasty) also the beef enchiladas are fire !! Those are my go to when I eat here.

Had the best first experience here! They have a really cute patio and new full bar. Our server was so kind and attentive. I ordered a margarona and they said they 'd never heard of it, but made me one anyways! Talk about top tier! Their salsas were so good we barely had room for the food when it came out. Boyfriend ordered a chimichanga and I got the potato taco and enchilada plate. They were both really delicious and came out quickly. We told them when they add the margarita to the menu it 's gotta be the Julie Margarita We will definitely be back!
