Hidden gem! It is off the old town touristic area. The restaurant has an open kitchen concept that you can see what they prepare in the table. Bright lights, small place but seems popular with locals. Very busy so make sure to reserve online. We ordered the special dish of the day which was a Ronaldo fish, fresh from the fish market and freshly made. We also ordered the cuttlefish in squid ink. Ink juice delicious and couldn’t stop dipping the Galician bread with it. The fish got everything right and was tasty. We ordered some tapas also including the empanada and the restaurant used seafood mussels inside; very different. We had some pate which was made of iberico ham, as well as anchovy in cheese bread. The must try, my opinion is their dessert tarte de Santiago. They modified the way cooking it by using high temperature. By doing it, it makes the cover crispy and melt inside. When you have a bite, the inside sweet all flow out. Amazing!
Our hotel Costa Vella recommended this restaurant for gourmet Galician style cuisine and made reservations for us. Two couples went together and enjoyed the delights of freshest seafood and the freshest vegetables. Each dish was prepared to honor the ingredients and help their own flavors stand out. The wine pairings recommended for our main courses were perfect as well. The entire meal was light and flavorful without too many condiments. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Santiago (we hope soon)!
