Unfortunately, we didn't have the chance to sit under it as we went for dinner, but it provides shade for the tables for those dining there. Despite being approached by people on the streets trying to guide us to restaurants, we were lucky to have Chichi, a friendly Cuban, help us out. Our first attempt at a restaurant was unsuccessful as it was full, but Chichi eventually found us a place to dine.
La Ceiba is a great budget-friendly option for dining in the historic city of Trinidad, located on the island of Cuba. They offer menus for 15 euros that include lobster and other Cuban specialties, along with a first course and dessert. The restaurant is centered around a massive Ceiba tree, a unique feature found only in Latin America. The atmosphere is pleasant and the food is excellent, especially considering the affordable prices.
In addition to the fabulous food, we were able to see the oldest ceiba tree in Trinity. Although it didn't provide shade for our dinner, it is known to shade the tables for daytime diners. Despite encountering some locals in the streets who tried to lead us to other restaurants, we eventually found our way to dinner thanks to Chichi, a helpful Cuban who looked after us. Our first attempt to dine at the restaurant was unsuccessful due to it being full, but we finally managed to have dinner there.
