We went there at a party of 8 after some nice meetings during the Fundiexpo. The place is beautiful and is called El Caserio because the location is an old house with a covered terrace inside. We ordered Paella and xistorra con queso, but the star of the day was the pig! Deliciousness
Decided to visit and try the Fideua. It was good, but not as good as the one I had last week at Asador Catalan. I also had an avocado salad, simple, but good. Portions are small, expensive, service too slow, it took a while just to take my order and the restaurant was empty (it was early)... And not friendly. For the price I can think of better options, but no complaints about how the food tastes.
You would expect a fine food experience only by looking at this place. Its monumental entrance opens up to an unforgettable experience. We had a table in the inside court, surrounded by stone columns and red walls in a perfect choice of lights. Great start you think. Well, then comes the food... Croquettes de jamon serrano to start. Served with a mayonnaise based salsa, these croquettes have nothing to do with jamon as the only flavour which remains in your mouth is a persistent fried oil contamination. What a shame! I decided I needed something extremely fresh and basic to keep going. So I asked for a salt baked fish. They served again with a mayo based salsa which I deliberately did not touch as all I wanted was fish. Basic.
Very nice restaurant with good decor. The food was very good. We didn't try it but the people in the table next to us ordered the Segovian suckling pig and it looks like something I would like to try next time.
