Place looks nice. Decore is presented with folkloric motive. Nice. Clean place and unique furniture. Tables and stools are hand carved, very nice. Food was ok. Presentation was simple, taste of food was ok and waitress did not have a smile. Ambiance is festive as...mexican place however the music is kind of loud and they may think that if at the beach that attracts turist well in the middle of the city it may work too. If you are in a hurry come and eat here, if you want to taste real mexican fritangas find some other place. Price is good. We were 2 and paid 11 USD 200 MXP) with drinks. Enjoy
This little, local restaurant, directly across from the hotel I stayed at (Gran) has a selection of freshly made Mexican delights, like gorditas and tacos, as well as some fancier dishes by the look. I had the gorditas, which were selected from a substantial list...of choices. Very busy place, and it looks as though it's popular with the local folk, which is always a good sign when you want to check out the food wherever you're visiting.
We went here with great enthusiasm from the reviews but found the flavors to be very underwhelming. We tried 5 gorditas in migaja simple with guiso fillings as follows: chicken, pork, beef, egg+chorizo, and mole verde. Except the latter one, they all tasted pretty much...the same. For reference, as of Oct 2017, prices are as follows: migaja simple 16 MXN, migaja simple con queso 19 MXN, migaja simple con guiso (i.e. with filling) 23 MXN, and migaja simple con queso and filling 26 MXN. We had asked two of ours to be with queso but unfortunately the waitress forgot. With these affordable prices and the quickness in preparation, I'd just opt for this place if you're looking for a quick bite on the go when visiting city center, but do not use this flavor profile as the bar for anything remotely close to good Mexican cuisine.
