I had to take off politely, but still it was unpleasant and cleansed out.
This Chinese restaurant is a hit and a miss. the reviews online looked good (possibly fake, possibly real). the pictures looked good (at least the articles they actually served, vs what they did not advertise wrongly). the small child-size bit of eating I was actually good (so 1 star instead of 0). there were many more negative than positive. first, the online menu advertised dumplings both steamed and fried. the waiter pretended he didn't know what they were, even with a picture, and pretended that my Spanish was suddenly not to understand. second, there was NO rice served with the dish, so there was absolutely nothing to clean the sauce and it drowned everywhere, including my hot and the pants. the service was slow as a turtle race. it was a sweat. it took 15 minutes to get control after the dirty plate. the personal was just sitting together and chatting with each other. apparently, weren't any manager in the service? or do they allow that? or maybe they also chatted with their employees and chatted and smiling with their employees? no thanks, and in any case no return visit will come. Stay away from here.
I had dinner. good food, good music. hard to get bill. I wouldn't hug the delivery service, I had problems.
The Oriental Grill is located near El Tec de Monterrey in Queretaro. There is valet parking but it is just as easy to park yourself. When you walk in you encounter the kitchen immediately in front of you. It is separated by glass but you...can see all the flames and flurry of the cooks. There is a bar immediately to the right and the downstairs seating. There is seating upstairs as well. The menu is indeed Oriental and not Chinese. You can order sushi and Pad Thai or Mongolian Beef. The menu itself is a bit of a hybrid. Many of the names of the dishes are English but the descriptions are all in Spanish. So, if you know what a California Roll is you don’t need to understand the description printed below the name. One dish that caught my eye was Asparagus with chicken “Espárragos Orientales”. The asparagus was wrapped in a thin roll of chicken breast, covered with a glaze and some sesame seeds. It looked delicious. One thing that surprised me was the delivery of our food. It was hot and fresh but it came all at once. We ordered a salad and sushi along with a Mongolian Beef and a Fried Rice. I expected to be served the salad and sushi and then after some time, the beef and fried rice. I am not sure if this was a faux pas or for our benefit. We did have a one year old crawling on top of the table and the rapid presentation of all of the food might have been for our convenience. Next time I will mention the order of presentation but I will definitely be back.
As I was staying in the hotel across the street to this place, I have ordered here many times. I like very much the Asian food in this place, the fried rice is gorgeous, the sushi is very well prepared, the appetizers are really good....However the service is the main problem in this place, is either distracted or too insistent. I ended up ordering at the hotel from this place and enjoyed very much my dinners at my room or at the lobby without suffering for the service.
