We decided to eat in the dining room behind the bar to keep out of the sun in January! . The dining room had a great noisy atmosphere and seemed to be full of Spanish speaking groups. We shared a tuna salad and then I chose goat stew which was flavoured kind of North African style with cloves peppercorns and maybe a touch of chilli. Absolutely lovely. Unfortunately I chose chips to go with it and Canarian potatoes would have been a better choice- we have found chips in Tenerife not to be that good. Hubby had black pork which he thought was very good. I speak a little Spanish but there was obviously confusion in the ordering as they delivered an extra plate of chips which I said we didn't want- they said we had ordered it and I really didn't want to make a fuss over such a small thing. Anyway when I came to pay the bill they deleted the extra chips from the bill- very friendly service. The deserts looked good but we couldn't fit one in!
My husband and I did the Tiede by night trip and were so pleased as it was an amazing night. We got picked up from outside our hotel and on the journey up to the mountain the tour guide Danny was very interesting explaining a lot about the mountain and the history of the island. The drive through the national park was beautiful with lots of stops along the way for photo opportunities. We had a 3 course meal and drinks all included and the food was delicious. We then went to see the sunset with a glass of cava which was beautiful bring a jumper or blanket as it is very cold and windy at the top!! They do provide a blanket but we were still cold. We then went back to the restaurant for more drinks including hot chocolate to warm up. We went to a secluded spot for the stargazing which was stunning the stars were so clear and Danny had a laser light which he used to show us different constellations. We were dropped off right outside our hotel again and got back just before midnight. Thoroughly enjoyed this trip and would highly recommend!
Visit by the teide stop and we went to eat in this restaurant santiago of simple but tasty food, well presented dishes, attentive staff, price of quality very good food, recommended
Truly terrible salad, soaking wet lettuce, more sliced onion than anyone could possibly eat. Asked for dry white wine, had instead a very sweet white wine which tasted of peaches. The staff were very nice but very busy.
