Adega Nunes - São Brás de Alportel

Um grande achado, um pouco desviado dos locais mais turísticos, mas que vale bem a viagem. Excelente comida caseira, com pratos regionais do interior do Algarve comemos frango com tomate, vitela estufada e um cozido de grão que fez as delícias de todos, miúdos e graúdos! O restaurante tem uma sala espaçosa, bem decorada (muitas vezes estes restaurantes de comida mais caseira são bastante humildes neste aspecto não é de todo o caso! . Estacionamento privado em frente ao restaurante. O staff foi muito simpático e tudo fizeram para acomodar as necessidades de um grupo grande e que apareceu de surpresa . O preço é mais que justo, especialmente face à qualidade e quantidade das doses. Recomendo vivamente e já estou a contar voltar nas férias de verão.

The restaurant was quiet when we went and quite a few dishes were unavailable. This is not a problem, however the service was terrible. The woman serving was clearly annoyed at our request to sit outside it was august our last evening in the Algarve) but seemed happy to oblige when Portuguese customers also asked to sit outside. The outside was empty so we were not taking anyone’s table. The olives were delicious, presumably local and the rest of the meal was good but not acceptable however, when we came to leave the woman who had come out to chat to the Portuguese customers, pointedly kept her back to us and did not acknowledge us. We needed the bill as we had a taxi booked. After 20 minutes we went inside to ask the male waiter who was lovely very helpful. When our taxi came we left and despite being next to the woman presumably the owner) she did not even acknowledge us. We left a tip and thanked the man but we will not be back as the food was fairly average and we were made to feel uncomfortable.

Traditional restaurant with good food and great fado performance on saturdays. I reccomend to everyone who want a sincere experience with local people.

Sao Bras de Alportel is abundant with good restraunts with professional service. The adega Nunus is not one of them.

If you like to try different and rustic dishes it's the perfect spot. The price is average. I tried suggested specialities fried rabbit, chick peas and pork cheeks, We paid 17,5€ with appetizers, drinks, desert and coffee.:
