We came after Thanksgiving and were very disappointed to hear that the pizzas had been removed from the menu. We've had them in the past and they are delicious. We did have the pasta special. I thought it was good but my wife thought it was so so. Kelly, the bartender is great!
We booked on line, you can pick a table or booth. Lots of free parking, there’s outside seating too, but not this time of year thank you! We’d hoped there’d be live music but that’s on Mondays and I think they said Thursdays only. They have a set three course $40 menu, but most of the same items are on the a la carte menu which is odd, and a few specials were shared. The warm herb bread was nice and for a change in Sarasota the water was filtered and tasted great, so they get a plus from me for that! Decor is modern looking and tables are not close together which is also a pleasant change. Tuna tower was a large portion, as was the beet salad bigger than needed! The lamb chops were great, but the Greek salad would have been better with crunchy iceberg lettuce than soft mixed green lettuce. But that’s just my preference. The fish and chips portion also large, and was good malt vinegar would have made it very British traditional but was not served. The bread pudding would have been lovely if they’d avoided pouring the sweet raspberry syrup all on top of it! Wine selection by the glass is reasonable. Our sever was very attentive and friendly. I mentioned in our on line reservation that it was our anniversary and told the hostess too on check in and asked her if we could get a nice table because of that, but no attempt was made to recognize our special occasion why ask the question on the booking form if you’re not going to offer a dessert, drink, or something? Maybe just offer the 9oz pour for the 6oz price, if your celebrating a special occasion? All in all a nice dinner, a little on the old fashioned style of food for us, big portions and over complicated use of more ingredients than needed, but you can’t complain about the value for money.
We had a real fun night. I had the Shrimp and mango salad. It was very good, but maybe the mango could have been a bit bigger. The 9 oz filet was very tender. Fish and Chips was excellent. Our waiter Shawn was delightful. He was knowledgeable and a very fun guy. He really contributed to the atmosphere. Definitely give him a high 5. Will go back again.
Came for Easter Sunday and I I have never been to a better buffet. I’m clear that a buffet is not their typical fare, but as my first time it could not have been a better experience. The staff were extremely helpful and the facilities were clean and comfortable. I’ll make an effort to get back their for a “regular” day when I go back to visit my family down there in the coming months.
