Skillets - Sarasota County

The atmosphere was great the food was awful. We had a new server that really didn't know anything about the menu or food that was served. We ordered sausage biscuits and gravy which came with 2 eggs and breakfast potatoes. Our biscuit tops and bottoms were crispy which was not expected or desired, the gravy was not at all hot, the potatoes ended up being some type of casserole. The manager spoke to us at checkout, said that's how their biscuits are, was going to speak tokitchen staff about gravy temperature and provided a discount to our meal

Stopped on the way out from Venice this morning for breakfast. So glad we did . A friend said you got to try it ,it is good . Well they were so right . Wasn't prepared for so much food . I took some of my breakfast with me . We don't have a Skillets in PA. Sure wish we did !

We didn't have to wait when we arrived, and the server was friendly. The coffee was good, and our food came out fairly quickly after we ordered. I was disappointed that they didn't have mimosas, and the croissant French toast wasn't anything out of the ordinary; however, it was saved by the generous fruit topping, which was definitely worth the extra $2. Everything else was great, and the restrooms were clean. I did find the interior a bit warm for my liking.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would! Our family had a fantastic experience at Skillets. The restaurant's atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was delicious! Our server, Jacqui, was exceptional—her recommendations were perfect, and she was very attentive, even with the restaurant being quite busy. She was truly impressive! Don’t miss out on the homemade whipped cream; it’s a must-try! A big thank you to the kitchen staff for making our tummies happy! You all are amazing!

I was in town visiting my parents and we decided to stop by for a midday breakfast. I ordered the pancake combo, which includes two pancakes, a choice of meat (I chose pork sausage), and two eggs. I also added strawberry toppings with warm strawberry syrup for an extra $2, along with their special skillet potatoes. The pancakes were the size of a standard dinner plate and tasted great. The eggs were cooked just as I requested and met my expectations. The pork sausage was tasty, but the skillet potatoes were only okay; they could have used a bit more flavor and perhaps some onions. The service was excellent! Overall, I would definitely return to this place and highly recommend that others give it a try.
