Donatos Pizza - Sarasota

The salad was good and the staff friendly but the pizza didnt have flavor, It lacked seasoning. We had the thin crust Works and the 4 cheese thin crust. They looked great but needs some serious seasoning.

Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza was exciting, different and delicious! I'm glad I took my friend's recommendation.

I have not had Donato 's since I moved to Florida over 3 years ago, and I was so looking forward to enjoying their pizza. There was a new employee at the cash register who needed help ringing up my order. She was very nice and eager to do a good job. The manager, Shawna, came up to help. She greeted me with a smile and apologized. She showed the cashier how to ring up my special order the works, no mushrooms and reassured me that it would be ready in 10 minutes. When I got in the car, I opened the box to admire the hot, fresh pizza and to take a picture for my review. I was dismayed to find it had extra mushrooms on it. When I brought it back in, the manager apologized and verified that she had accidentally hit extra mushrooms instead of no mushrooms. She alerted the pizza makers that there was a problem and needed my order remade right away, ahead of the other orders that were next. She again apologized and told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. The pizza was ready as promised, and the amount charged for the pizza had been reimbursed. I was pleasantly surprised and very appreciative. While I was disappointed by the delay in my order, I was not upset. Mistakes happen. The situation was handled perfectly. Back in my car, I took my review picture and enjoyed the wonderful smell and visual presentation. All ingredients were very fresh and liberally applied as was my first order, so I knew they were not adding extra ingredients to make up for the mistake. The cheese delightfully strung out as I lifted my first slice. There was also an abundance of sauce. My first bite brought back my memories of the Donato 's I always enjoyed back home. I was disappointed by the lack of cornmeal on the crust. I don 't know if that is a Florida thing, they don 't use it at this location, or if they stopped using it chain wide. Even without the cornmeal, I thoroughly enjoyed my pizza and will return for another, soon.
