It has been a few years since we last dined here, and while there are now plenty of excellent Thai restaurants in the area, this one no longer meets the mark. We shared a shrimp appetizer that turned out to be deep-fried minced shrimp, which was underwhelming. I ordered the duck, and it was quite disappointing. The portion was barely adequate, which might have been a blessing in disguise, as the dish was filled with bones and excessively sauced. I left feeling hungry, which is quite rare for me these days. My wife ordered the vegetable tempura, which was just average. As a long-standing fixture in Sarasota's Main Street dining scene, they have clearly fallen behind the times. The ownership really needs to reevaluate the quality of the food they are serving, especially at such premium prices.
The menu is extensive, featuring a great variety of sushi and Thai dishes. Our dinner was fantastic, and we will certainly return!
As always drunk poet has the best sushi in sarasota. the place is always quiet and the service is always very good.
Even though we had a reservation we had to wait like 30 minutes before being seated. The restaurant is small and cramped and was uncomfortable for a party of 4. The food wasnât great. The edamame was so over salted. They literally dumped salt on top of it. The sushi wasnât great either. I wasnât impressed and wouldnât go back there . Our waitress was very nice through.
