I had the pleasure of dining at Figaro Bistro several times, a charming French bistro and wine bar nestled in the heart of the Sarasota. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was captivated by the restaurant's elegant and inviting ambiance, setting the stage for what turned out to be an unforgettable culinary experience. The menu at Figaro boasts a delightful array of traditional French delicacies, each dish thoughtfully crafted to perfection. From the first bite to the last, every dish was a symphony of tastes and textures. The wine list was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to providing an authentic French dining experience. The attention to detail in both the cuisine and hospitality is evident, making it a haven for anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience.
An amazing experience from the moment we entered as our last minute reservation thru Resy didn’t go through, but the owner was so welcoming and gave us a table next to the cutest local couple who’s been 60+ times. We bought their dinner as they were filled with wonderful stories and great info for the area. Thank you Pat and Tom for a great evening. Small bar but filled with locals come to eat delicious food without any fuss for a table, but a fun vibe. We started with the Server’s wine recommendations that were both excellent and the delicious cheese plate. The restaurant is small, intimate and quaint. I had the Red Snapper special, which was perfectly cooked with an incredible sauce and the sides we incredible. My husband had the Dover Sole which was one of the best we’d ever had. They allow you to substitute their handmade French fries. OMG- they were so good. We’re thinking fried in duck fat. We’re new to this area. This will now be on our regular bi-weekly list of the best places to eat. Chef David is incredibly talent. His way of preparing and cooking really allows the item to speak for themselves without a lot of cover up such as sauces, etc. Highly recommend and I understand during season, super hard to get into.
Such a lovely first time here! The classic French bistro food was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. Boeuf bourguignon, magret de canard à l’orange, profiteroles…all spectacular. Good selection of French wines. And the ambiance was cute, airy and laid-back. The best was the owner, who made us feel so welcome with her lovely, sunny disposition. And our server was fabulous, too.
It was an occasion to remember. Figaro Bistro was a wonderful experience. I went with my wife and my Brother and sister n law Had dinner last night. The ladies had fish and the guy's steak. Very nice atmosphere much like the cafes in Paris. A good evening with, good food. Go to the Bistro in Sarasota and you will love it.
We were completely disappointed with our $200 dinner including tip at Figaro‘s. I ordered the snapper special with crawfish cream and it was two small pieces of fish, and at the bottom of the plate was a red watery liquid. Basically tasteless. My friend’s dinner was tasteless as well. She had the white wine mussels and the broth was like water. We had to ask for salt. No bread and butter was offered. We ordered Kir royale for drinks and the waiter said they didn’t have enough fruit to put a raspberry in each of our glasses when we saw that at the table next to us, a lady had a strawberry or raspberry in her drink and this may not seem like a big deal but for $15 they could’ve put a raspberry in there. And lastly, we had a visa gift card to pay part of the bill. The waiter said it doesn’t have a chip, it won’t work. And we told him that we use them all the time all over town and no one has a problem. And he just basically refused and said it won’t work. Of course we asked for the manager and she repeated everything that he said and they never even ran the gift card. The food was bland and tasteless not rich in flavor as all of the other French restaurants we’ve been to. The service was stuffy and they can’t even accept Visa gift cards on their brand new computer system! We will not be back.
